Job Summary
Key Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Fleet Controller within the transport logistics or road freight industry
- Experience managing heavy vehicle operations and fleet movements
- Proficiency in fleet tracking and telematics systems (e.g. MiX Telematics Ctrack or similar)
- Strong understanding of transport regulations vehicle compliance and fleet administration
- Ability to coordinate multiple vehicles drivers and deliveries simultaneously
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and administrative abilities
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and track vehicle and driver movements using fleet management systems
- Plan and coordinate daily transport schedules routes and load allocations
- Ensure compliance with licensing permits maintenance schedules and transport regulations
- Liaise with drivers customers and workshop teams to resolve operational issues
- Monitor fuel consumption driver performance and trip efficiency
- Maintain accurate fleet records documentation and compliance reports
- Coordinate vehicle servicing inspections and breakdown assistance
- Compile daily weekly and monthly fleet performance reports
- Ensure timely communication of operational updates and schedule changes
- Support continuous improvement of fleet productivity and service delivery

Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
- Relevant qualification in Logistics Transport Management Supply Chain or related field advantageous
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Fleet Controller or similar role
- Experience within road freight logistics or transport operations
- Knowledge of fleet tracking and transport management systems
- Understanding of transport legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with Side Tipper and/or PBS vehicles advantageous
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
- Valid drivers licence advantageous
- Additional fleet management or logistics certifications advantageous
