Job Summary

Our client in the Digital Connectivity sector is seeking a Cloud Engineer (Azure / Databricks) on a contract duration of 6 months.

Role Purpose
The Cloud Engineer (Azure / Databricks) is responsible for implementing configuring and supporting Azure cloud infrastructure and the Databricks platform to enable secure scalable and high-performing data and analytics solutions. The role ensures that cloud environments are optimised resilient and compliant with enterprise standards supporting the delivery of data products advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Deploy configure and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure supporting enterprise data and analytics platforms.
  • Implement and support Azure landing zones virtual networks connectivity storage and compute resources.
  • Configure and administer Azure Databricks workspaces and associated cloud services.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance availability and capacity implementing improvements where required.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects Data Engineers and Platform Engineers to support the deployment of data and analytics solutions.
  • Ensure cloud environments comply with security governance privacy and enterprise architecture standards.
  • Support cloud networking identity and access management resource provisioning and operational support.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and provide root cause analysis for cloud platform incidents.
  • Optimise cloud resource utilisation and contribute to cost management initiatives.
  • Produce technical documentation and support operational handover and production support activities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 58 years experience in cloud infrastructure engineering preferably within Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services including Virtual Networks Azure Storage Azure Key Vault Azure Monitor and Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory).
  • Experience administering Azure Databricks and supporting enterprise data platforms.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking security identity management and monitoring.
  • Experience supporting analytics data engineering or machine learning platforms is advantageous.
  • Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g. Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
