Civil Engineer Contract Role

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our clients team and take responsibility for the planning design and execution of critical civil engineering projects across their operations. This role will play a key part in the successful delivery of their Upcoming Project while also providing civil engineering support for ongoing plant infrastructure and ad hoc ideal candidate is a hands-on professional with strong project management abilities technical expertise and the ability to deliver complex projects safely on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site investigations and feasibility assessments for new and existing projects.
- Develop engineering designs technical drawings and construction specifications.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable engineering standards and regulations.
- Lead and coordinate civil engineering projects from concept through to completion.
- Develop and manage project budgets schedules and resource plans.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to ensure successful delivery.
- Supervise contractors and construction activities to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise delays and cost overruns.
- Ensure compliance with health safety environmental and engineering regulations.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and provide regular progress reports to management.
- Provide civil engineering expertise for plant maintenance upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
- Support the companys ongoing operational requirements through technical guidance and problem-solving.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Personal Attributes:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional registration or eligibility for registration will be advantageous.
- Proven experience managing civil engineering projects preferably within heavy industry manufacturing mining or industrial environments.
- Experience overseeing construction projects from planning through execution.
- Strong understanding of structural infrastructure and industrial civil works.
- Excellent project planning and organisational skills.
- Strong budgeting and cost control experience.
- Ability to conduct technical analysis and risk assessments.
- Effective leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Results-driven with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet demanding deadlines.
