Qualifications:
- Matric.
- Degree in Actuarial Science (SAQA accredited).
- Passed or exempted from at least the A-Series subjects of the Actuarial Society of South Africa.
Experience:
- 35 years actuarial experience within the life insurance industry.
- Minimum 3 years experience in financial reporting.
- Experience across actuarial functions including pricing reserving risk management financial modelling and forecasting.
- Proven ability to apply actuarial insights to strategic business decisions.
- Registration with the relevant professional actuarial body.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong analytical statistical and financial modelling skills.
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 Solvency II or similar regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in actuarial software programming and data analysis tools.
- Experience with predictive analytics machine learning and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Actuarial Support
- Analyse statistical and financial data to identify trends and support business decision-making.
- Assist with statutory reporting financial projections budgeting ORSA reporting product pricing profit testing and viability assessments.
- Develop predictive models to forecast claims risks and financial performance.
Risk Management & Forecasting
- Assess financial risks and evaluate the sustainability and profitability of products.
- Develop actuarial models to support solvency liquidity and risk management requirements.
- Recommend risk mitigation strategies and provide accurate business forecasts.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
- Prepare reports dashboards and visual presentations of actuarial findings.
- Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Support regulatory and statutory reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders including management auditors and regulators.
Governance & Compliance
- Maintain accurate documentation of models methodologies assumptions and analyses.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and reporting standards.
