About the opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on Java Developer Manager to lead a team of software engineers in designing developing and delivering scalable enterprise applications. The role involves technical leadership stakeholder management solution design and team mentoring while ensuring high-quality software delivery across projects.
Your key responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Java developers across the software development lifecycle
- Design and develop scalable secure and high-performance Java applications
- Drive technical architecture discussions and solution design decisions
- Collaborate with business stakeholders project managers QA DevOps and cross-functional teams
- Review code quality enforce best practices and ensure coding standards are maintained
- Mentor and coach junior developers and support career development within the team
- Manage project timelines risks and resource planning to ensure successful delivery
- Participate in client discussions requirement gathering and technical estimations
- Support CI/CD implementation system integration and cloud deployment initiatives
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide production support when required
To qualify for the role you must have
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
- Minimally 6 years of software development experience with strong expertise in Java
- Prior experience leading or managing development teams
- Strong experience with:
- Java 8/11/17
- Spring Boot / Spring Framework
- RESTful APIs & Microservices
- SQL & relational databases (Oracle PostgreSQL MySQL)
- Git Maven Jenkins CI/CD pipelines
- Cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or GCP
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams in a fast-paced environment
Ideally youll also have
- Experience with containerization tools such as Docker/Kubernetes
- Exposure to Kafka Redis or event-driven architecture
- Knowledge of frontend technologies is a plus
- Consulting or client-facing experience preferred
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
- Solution-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills
- Ability to balance hands-on technical work with people management
- Proactive and adaptable in dynamic environments
