Job Summary
Job Purpose
The Lead Estimation Engineer is responsible for leading and managing the full estimation lifecycle for large-scale EPC and Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK) onshore projects primarily within Saudi Arabia and Saudi Aramco-related projects. The role requires strong technical commercial and contractual acumen to develop accurate competitive and compliant cost estimates drive major project estimates lead construction cost development and support change order pricing throughout the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities
Estimation & Cost Engineering
- Drive the end-to-end cost estimation for large complex EPC and LSTK projects.
- Lead the preparation of Class 15 cost estimates for onshore projects.
- Lead construction cost estimation including labor equipment materials subcontracting and construction indirects.
- Develop bottom-up construction estimates aligned with execution strategy and site conditions.
- Review ITB documents specifications drawings BOQs and scope of work to ensure full scope capture.
- Establish estimation methodologies WBS cost structures and pricing strategies.
- Benchmark costs using historical data market intelligence and risk profiles.
Saudi Aramco & KSA Projects
- Prepare estimates in compliance with Saudi Aramco standards procedures and cost models.
- Support bidding tendering and prequalification activities for Aramco and other Saudi clients.
- Handle commercial and technical clarifications related to estimates.
Change Orders & Variations
- Lead pricing of change orders variations and claims.
- Prepare detailed backup documentation rate build-ups and justifications.
- Support negotiations and defense of change orders with clients.
Commercial & Contractual Support
- Provide strong commercial input during tender evaluations and bid strategy development.
- Identify commercial risks and cost optimization opportunities.
- Coordinate with Contracts Planning Procurement Engineering and Construction teams.
Leadership & Communication
- Lead and mentor estimation engineers and cost engineers.
- Review and validate estimates prepared by team members.
- Prepare and present cost summaries and tender reviews to senior management.
- Act as focal point for estimation discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Civil Electrical or equivalent).
- Minimum 12 years of experience in cost estimation for EPC / LSTK onshore projects.
- Extensive experience in Saudi Arabia with strong exposure to Saudi Aramco projects.
- Proven experience in leading large complex LSTK tenders.
- Strong experience in pricing change orders and variations.
- Nice to have experience in OMPP WUR CRPOs estimation
