Sustaining Engineering Hardware Engineer

Role: Level 2 Hardware Engineer

Location: Lugoj Romania

Reports to: R&D Manager Sustaining Engineering

Honeywell Building Automation (BA) FIRE group is in the process of reimagining the next generation FIRE Panel & peripherals requiring creative Hardware engineers with strong domain and application knowledge.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Main responsibility for this position is to develop & maintain all the hardware required for fire detection systems comprised of control panels loop cards and field devices (transponder) requiring expertise in various technologies like Micro controllers; supply rails low level communications sensing and protocols.

SPECIFIC TASKS INCLUDE:

• Understand existing product design and implementation.
• Develop hardware design for panels loop cards etc with adherence to cybersecurity
• Effort estimation and planning technically manage external consultants and suppliers
• Maintain know how on applicable FIRE standards
• Interact with manufacturing and product stake holders.
• Generate innovative ideas with our designs and solutions
• Investigate complex customer issues.
• A contributing member of the global Sustaining Engineering team.
• Working collaboratively with local and global cross-functional product development teams.
• Mentor junior team members in best practice.

MUST HAVE

• Bachelor or Master degree in engineering with specialization in hardware design.
• 3 years of Hardware design
• Good communication and teamworking skills
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Ability to travel worldwide ca. 10%

WE VALUE

• Knowledge of product-specific Standard (such as EN54)
• Experience on requirement-management Experience on cross site development
• Experience on EMC-compliant design
• Has worked with teams across multiple locations and time zones.
• Exposure to Agile development methodology project execution
• Experience working as a multi-discipline engineer (Firmware Electrical Mechanical)
