MSSQL Database Admin

Provide MSSQL database administration service.
Expert knowledge of SQL Server Backup and Restore strategies including Full Differential and Transaction Log backups.
Strong experience with Always on Availability Groups installation administration and troubleshooting.
Experience configuring Failover Cluster Instances (FCI).
Expertise in performance tuning using SQL Profiler Extended Events Query Store DMVs and execution plans.
Database maintenance using SQL Server Agent jobs Maintenance Plans and PowerShell.
Knowledge of Database Mirroring Replication and Log Shipping.
Capacity planning indexing statistics management and storage optimization.
Security administration including TDE encryption logins roles permissions and auditing.
Hands-on experience with SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio).
Good to have PowerShell scripting knowledge.
Exposure to monitoring tools such as SCOM SolarWinds DPA Opsramp Redgate SQL Monitor or similar.
Knowledge of ticketing and ITSM tools: ServiceNow Jira and Valuemation (preferred).
Experience with backup tools such as Cohesity and Networker.
Conduct DR drills and recovery testing
Provide L2/L3 support for business-critical database incidents and service requests.
Participate in on-call and major incident management activities.
Create and maintain SOPs operational runbooks and technical documentation.
Collaborate with infrastructure application and cloud teams.
ITIL process awareness and change management Problem management Service request and incident management experience as a resolver group.
Following standard team processes and defines new ones with corrections.
The individuals will be expected to be fully-functional SQL Server DBAs who can perform traditional DBA activities independently and guide team members too.
Able to provide escalation support whenever required.
From an operational perspective responsibilities include troubleshooting problems working maintenance windows and providing 24x7 on call supports on a rotational basis.
Excellent users and security concepts of SQL Server.
Physical Database Design and Implementation
Start up and shutdown of Database instances
Maintaining Database replication / standby / clusters
Job scheduling
Health check of MSSQL DBs.
Excellent troubleshooting skills vendor management coordination skills within the team and with windows backup etc. teams.
Reorganization or rebuild of indexes to remove fragmentation
Designing SQL Server maintenance plans.
SSIS SSAS and SSRS

Examine tuning opportunities.
User / Schema Creation
User Management
Roles and Privileges Management
Look for security policy violations
Privileges & Access controls on Database
Backup execution and monitoring
Conduct Backup restoration drills for backup verification
Database Connectivity issues
Vendor Management
Root Cause Analysis for DB problems/ Recurring problems and initiate Request for Change

At least MSSQL DBA experience 4 years required
Thorough Knowledge of Windows Operating System
. Knowledge of creating and maintaining standby / replication/ Always ON setup
. Strong in MSSQL DBA fundamentals
. Knowledge of using Query store and Query Analyzer for basic administration
. Knowledge of configuring and setting up maintenance activities for DB
. Knowledge of SQL statements tuning and DB Tuning
. Knowledge on DB structures (file groups Indexes - clustered /non clustered/fill factor)
. Knowledge on Memory structures (configurable parameters) DB Architecture
Knowledge of complete /differential / transactional backups and their recovery scenarios
. Knowledge on High Availability configuration like Always ON replication and log shipping
Excellent communication Skills
Prior experience in a 24x7 environment desired
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Provide on-call support as and when required
Team player who has a customer focus and brings expertise to the team

MCSE MSSQL Certification is mandatory
Technically sound knowledge on Clustering Log Shipping Mirroring Always on
