Advanced Dimensional Lab Engineer (FM)
Job Summary
Responsibilities
Programming analysis and 3D measurements using CMM and 3D scanning technologies
Dimensional measurements using optical microscopes
Measurements using conventional metrology equipment
Performing visual and optical inspections of parts using available standards equipment and technologies (e.g. X-ray cross-section analysis microscopy VDI 3400 standard VDA 16 standard)
Preparing and validating First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR/PPAP) for molds and plastic injection molding processes
Preparing measurement reports to support Quality Production and Research & Development (R&D) activities
Candidate profile
Bachelors degree in a technical field (preferably Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Metrology or a related discipline)
Previous experience in a similar role (3D metrology measurement laboratory)
Strong knowledge of:
Technical drawings tolerances and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
Programming and operation of CMM equipment and 3D scanning technologies (including CT scanning)
Measurements using optical and conventional metrology equipment
Interpretation analysis and reporting of measurement results
Strong attention to detail organizational skills and analytical thinking
Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and MSA (Measurement System Analysis)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel PowerPoint Word)
Advanced English language skills (written and spoken)
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Proactive approach to problem identification and resolution
Experience with Zeiss CMM systems (Calypso) VGStudio and GOM Inspect is considered an advantage
