At AstraZeneca we are looking for a Medical Scientific Liaison RDU - Perú to join our Medical Affairs team. This field-based role serves as the scientific expert within the assigned therapeutic area responsible for executing medical strategies for pre-launch and newly launched products engaging with key external experts (KEEs) healthcare professionals and other stakeholders across the healthcare ecosystem.
As an MSL you will play a critical role in generating scientific insights fostering trusted partnerships supporting evidence generation initiatives and helping transform clinical practice to improve patient access to innovative therapies and high-quality care.
Main Responsibilities
Execute the Medical Affairs strategy and Field Medical Strategic Plan (FMSP) within the assigned therapeutic area.
Establish and maintain strong scientific relationships with Key External Experts (KEEs) healthcare professionals researchers and other relevant stakeholders.
Conduct high-quality scientific exchanges and peer-to-peer discussions aligned with medical objectives.
Provide balanced evidence-based scientific information regarding AstraZeneca products disease states and emerging therapies.
Identify collect analyze and communicate actionable medical insights from the external environment to internal stakeholders.
Organize and facilitate scientific meetings advisory boards expert panels symposia and educational activities.
Support investigator-sponsored research local evidence generation initiatives and publication opportunities.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs Commercial Market Access Regulatory Compliance and other internal teams.
Contribute to patient journey mapping and identification of healthcare system challenges and opportunities.
Support scientific engagement with traditional and non-traditional stakeholders including policymakers government institutions patient advocacy groups and healthcare innovation partners.
Leverage digital tools and innovative technologies to enhance scientific engagement and medical impact.
Ensure full compliance with AstraZeneca policies medical governance standards pharmacovigilance requirements and local regulations.
Key Requirements
Bachelors degree in a Health Sciences discipline such as Medicine Pharmacy Biology Nursing Nutrition Dentistry or related fields.
Minimum 1 year of experience within the pharmaceutical industry clinical research healthcare environment or Medical Affairs roles (MSL experience preferred).
Strong scientific knowledge and understanding of disease management within a therapeutic area.
Excellent communication presentation and relationship-building skills.
Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate insights into strategic actions.
Experience engaging with healthcare professionals scientific experts and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Project management skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
Strong digital and collaborative skills: Teams Copilot AZChatGPT PowerPoint Power BI
Ability to travel frequently within the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MSc PharmD MD PhD or equivalent) in a scientific or healthcare-related field.
Experience in Medical Affairs clinical development or evidence generation activities.
Previous experience working with key opinion leaders investigator-sponsored studies or scientific publications.
Understanding of healthcare systems patient pathways market access and healthcare policy environments.
