Key Responsibilities
Financial Metrics & ReportingSupport & deepen the analysis of core financial metrics including ARR bookings product performance and retention. Bring efficiencies to core reporting and trending analysis via BI tooling with an early focus on the accounting function. Bring data forward lens to how finance operates to ensure creation of sustainable processes that are AI compatible. Ensure consistent metric definitions and data integrity across financial reporting and executive dashboards. Enhance costing analysis across direct semi-fixed and variable cloud cost categories accounting for the unique drivers and complexity of a multi-product portfolio.
Executive Reporting & BI Management Design build and maintain financial dashboards and reports within the companys primary Business Intelligence (BI) platform (PowerBI). Ensure dashboards are reliable up-to-date and clearly communicate performance insights for Finance leadership and executive stakeholders. Serve as a BI and data competency resource across the Finance organization helping Accounting and FP&A colleagues build confidence and self-sufficiency in data tools over time.
Embed with the FP&A team during monthly close Assist the monthly financial review by performing variance analysis to bridge actual results against budgets. Dig into complex data movements to find the real business reasons behind the movement and explain these findings clearly to leadership. Act as a catalyst for operational excellence by identifying and resolving workflow inefficiencies. Leverage technical proficiency and AI tooling to automate manual consolidation and streamline forecasting models designing scalable lean processes that reduce cycle times and free up Finance bandwidth for strategic efforts.
Ad Hoc Financial Analysis Support Finance leadership with a steady stream of ad-hoc or custom analytics; incorporate backlog and future roadmap where it makes sense.
Data Maturity & Finance-Data Translation Partner with the Sr. Financial Data Analyst and upstream data stakeholders to define a target data-ready state for Finance. Translate FP&A requirements into actionable data definitions structures and process improvements that improve the reliability and usability of financial data over time. Serve as a finance-credible voice in conversations with IT data engineering and operational system owners about upstream data flows and integrity.
Finance Team Partnership & Enablement Act as a peer partner and sounding board to other Finance team members collaborating on data architecture decisions analytical prioritization and the shared roadmap for Finance data maturity. Contribute to raising the data and BI literacy of the broader Finance team by helping colleagues build confidence and self-sufficiency with data tools and reporting infrastructure over time.
Financial Data Systems Understanding Develop a strong understanding of how key operational and financial systems interact across the revenue lifecycle including CRM and ERP platforms. Develop working knowledge of cloud cost and infrastructure data sources to support product cost analysis. Support the integrity and consistency of data used in financial reporting and analytics. Maintain a working knowledge of data structures in these systems to understand how this data flows end to end. Develop monitoring and data management processes to govern and control key data.
SQL Development Write update and maintain SQL queries and scripts necessary to extract transform and structure data for financial reporting and dashboard development while ensuring data integrity and performance.
Finance Reporting Infrastructure Develop and maintain datasets reports and dashboards across BI tools and source systems to support financial planning forecasting and executive reporting.
Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience spanning FP&A finance analytics and/or financial data roles in an Enterprise SaaS environment. Prior experience working across both traditional FP&A deliverables and data or BI work is strongly preferred. Experience with product cost analysis cloud cost structures or FinOps concepts is a meaningful differentiator.
Communication Ability to effectively bridge technical and business audiences by explaining data methodologies and insights in a clear and practical way.
BI Tool Expertise Extensive hands-on experience building dashboards and reports in BI platforms such as Power BI Tableau Domo or similar tools.
SQL Proficiency Advanced proficiency in SQL including complex query development data transformation and query optimization for reporting environments.
Education Bachelors degree in a quantitative or analytical field.
SaaS Financial Metrics Expertise Strong understanding of the Enterprise SaaS business model and key financial metrics including ARR bookings ACV churn expansion and retention.
Revenue Data Familiarity Experience working with operational revenue data from CRM and finance systems and translating it into financial reporting and analytics.
Cloud & Product Cost Fluency Familiarity with cloud infrastructure cost structures (direct semi-fixed and variable) and how product architecture and usage patterns drive cost. Ability to navigate cost complexity across a multi-product environment including products with varied margin profiles stemming from acquisition or organic growth.
Systems Familiarity Working familiarity with systems such as Salesforce and NetSuite with an understanding of how operational GTM data translates into financial metrics and reporting.
Communication Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex data findings into clear actionable insights for finance and executive stakeholders.
Attention to Detail Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to data accuracy reporting consistency and data governance.
