SAP BASIS Solution Architect Presales / Transformation

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP BASIS Solution Architect to drive architecture-led presales and transformation engagements across SAP programs. This role requires a strong blend of deep technical BASIS expertise enterprise architecture thinking and presales solutioning capability.
The candidate will act as a trusted technical advisor to customers responsible for designing scalable secure and future-ready SAP architectures while aligning with SAPs evolution toward cloud platform-based innovation and intelligent enterprise frameworks.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong capabilities in:
Enterprise SAP landscape architecture
Cloud and transformation strategy
Migration and modernization roadmap definition
Technical solution advisory during presales cycles

Key Responsibilities
Architecture Leadership
Define end-to-end SAP technical architecture across landscapes covering on-premise cloud and hybrid scenarios
Design target-state architectures aligned with customer transformation goals and SAP roadmap
Architect solutions for:
o SAP S/4HANA transformation
o Cloud migration (Private / Public / Hybrid)
o Platform-led extensions and integrations
o High availability DR and resilient architectures
Define reference architectures architecture blueprints and solution patterns

Transformation & Advisory
Lead technical advisory for:
o SAP ECC to S/4HANA transformation journeys
o Landscape simplification and optimization
o Cloud adoption strategies and roadmap
Recommend migration approaches:
o Greenfield
o Brownfield
o Selective / hybrid transformation
Define phased transformation roadmaps including technical milestones risks and dependencies
Drive Clean Core architecture principles and extensibility strategy

Presales Solutioning
Lead architecture-driven presales discussions and solution design for strategic deals
Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures and solution proposals
Provide technical estimations solution sizing and cost inputs for BASIS and platform scope
Own technical solution components in RFP/RFI/RFQ responses
Conduct solution workshops architecture presentations and proposal defense sessions
Collaborate with sales delivery hyperscaler and product teams for winning solution strategies

Technology Strategy & Innovation
Act as a thought leader for SAP technology evolution and innovation adoption
Guide customers on:
o SAP modernization strategy
o Cloud-first architecture decisions
o Platform-driven extensibility models
Continuously evaluate and position new SAP capabilities and innovations in proposals

Governance & Transition
Ensure architecture consistency and governance across proposals
Define architecture assumptions constraints and risks
Support smooth transition to delivery teams ensuring architecture integrity
Provide oversight and guidance during initial project phases (as needed)

Technical Competencies
A. Modern SAP Architecture & Platforms (Must Have)
SAP S/4HANA (On-premise Private Cloud Public Cloud architectures)
RISE with SAP and enterprise transformation frameworks
SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) architecture awareness
SAP HANA / HANA Cloud architecture and deployment understanding
SAP Cloud ALM and modern ALM strategy
SAP Fiori / Gateway / Web architecture
Integration architecture (SAP Integration Suite awareness)
Understanding of:
o Clean Core architecture
o Extensibility models (in-app side-by-side)
o API-driven and event-driven architectures
Experience in SAP deployments on hyperscalers (Azure / AWS / GCP)

B. Core SAP BASIS & Legacy Expertise (Hands-On Required)
Deep hands-on expertise in:
o SAP ECC / NetWeaver landscapes
o Installations upgrades system copies
o OS/DB migrations and Unicode conversions
o Performance optimization and troubleshooting
Strong working knowledge of:
o SAP Solution Manager
o SAP BW CRM SCM PI/PO Portal environments
Experience across end-to-end lifecycle (implementation support migration)

C. Infrastructure & Platform Architecture
Strong understanding of:
o Databases: HANA Oracle SQL Server DB2 Sybase
o OS: Linux Unix Windows
o Cloud infrastructure virtualization networking storage
Ability to design:
o HA/DR solutions
o Scalable infrastructure architectures
o Secure and compliant SAP landscapes

Architectural & Consulting Skills
Strong enterprise architecture orientation
Ability to create:
o Architecture blueprints and diagrams
o Target vs current state assessments
o Transformation roadmaps and solution strategies
Strong skills in:
o Stakeholder engagement (CXO / IT leadership / architects)
o Translating technical architecture into business value
Experience in driving:
o Large complex SAP transformation deals
o Multi-system multi-region SAP landscapes

Educational Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering / Computer Science / IT or equivalent
SAP certifications in BASIS / S/4HANA / HANA / Cloud preferred

Preferred Experience
Experience in enterprise-scale SAP transformation programs
Exposure to cloud-native SAP architectures and managed service models
Experience in global presales and large deal solutioning
Knowledge of hyperscaler offerings and SAP-certified infrastructure setups
