INTECH Automation Intelligence is seeking a skilled and solution-oriented Solution & Proposal Engineer to join our fast-paced Solution Centre Department. This role is central to designing optimizing and proposing control system solutions tailored to customer RFQs and technical requirements. Youll be working on high-impact projects across industries like Oil & Gas Utilities and Energy shaping automation outcomes that prioritize performance safety and cost-efficiency.
What Youll Lead and Deliver
- Manage daily proposal and presales activities ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks and adherence to proposal submission deadlines.
- Review RFQs client specifications and tender documents to assess technical and commercial requirements preparing Statement of Work (SOW) summaries for discussion with the Solution Center Lead and Sales team.
- Analyze customer requirements and develop comprehensive technical solutions aligned with client needs and project specifications.
- Prepare high-quality technical and commercial proposals ensuring compliance with customer requirements company standards and submission timelines.
- Develop and recommend optimal control system architectures and automation solutions obtaining necessary technical approvals from the Solution Center Lead.
- Prepare proposal support documentation including Gantt charts organizational charts compliance matrices reference lists success stories OEM authorizations engineer certifications customer appreciation letters and other value-added documents to improve bid competitiveness.
- Complete solution-specific checklists for Control Systems Wellhead Control Panels (WHCP) Electrical Panels Metering Skids Buildings and other associated systems to ensure complete solution coverage.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders vendors OEMs and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and negotiate pricing commercial terms and discount structures.
- Prepare detailed project cost estimates commercial evaluations and pricing models while maintaining profitability and competitiveness.
- Maintain and continuously update the Master Proposal Database proposal templates costing sheets and standard solution libraries in coordination with the Solution Center Lead.
- Develop standardized proposal formats solution architectures costing methodologies and documentation templates to improve consistency quality and efficiency across all proposals.
- Perform comprehensive quality reviews of proposals and supporting documents to ensure technical accuracy completeness and compliance before submission.
- Identify technical commercial contractual and execution risks within RFQs and tender specifications escalating concerns and documenting all assumptions and exceptions to the Solution Center Lead.
- Ensure all proposals clearly define technical and commercial deviations assumptions qualifications and exceptions wherever applicable.
- Gather feedback from Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) on submitted proposals and incorporate lessons learned to enhance future proposal quality and win rates.
- Provide technical support during prequalification (PQ) activities and customer registration processes for new clients.
- Conduct customer site visits whenever required to understand project scope perform technical assessments and support solution development.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of vendor pricing customer information bid strategies commercial data and project documentation in accordance with company policies.
- Support continuous process improvement by developing efficient proposal workflows calculation tools reusable templates and standardized documentation.
- Collaborate closely with Sales Engineering Procurement and Management teams to deliver high-quality customer-focused solutions.
- Assist management in fostering a collaborative high-performance work environment by promoting knowledge sharing process improvements and continuous team development.
Requirements:
To Be Successful in This Role You Must Have:
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) with 7 - 9 years of experience.
- Understanding of Control systems and applications.
- Practical knowledge in developing control system solutions and architectures.
- Experience in creating BOM and designs at least two major PLC and DCS platforms and HMI/ SCADA softwares (Rockwell HIMA Siemens DELAT V Yokogawa GE Honeywell etc.)
- Good understanding of control system hardware design (Panel design/ wiring drawings etc.).
- Understanding of Oil and gas standards and their implementation. (NFPA FM UL CE Marks API IEC standards)
- Understanding of Hazardous areas applications and equipment selection
- Understanding of electrical equipment and LV switchgears.
- Knowledge on control system networks and protocols (communication layers soft protocols MODBUS DEVICENET ETHERNET/IP Profibus ProfiNet etc.)
- Know how of oil and gas facilities (upstream/ mid-stream and downstream).
- Know-how of communication systems (VSATs Radio networks)
- Understanding of Safety instrumented systems and SIL levels
- Knowledge of security systems (CCTVs Anti-Intrusion systems) etc.
- MS office expertise (Excel/ Word/ PP/Visio)
- Complete understanding of product/ services portfolio of Oil & Gas automation industry.
- Complete Understanding of cost model related to supply and engineering services.
