President Operations
Job Summary
Position Summary:
The President of Operations will have end-to-end responsibility for all manufacturing operations across the companys production facilities. The role is responsible for delivering exceptional performance in safety quality delivery cost productivity and operational excellence while building a high-performance culture.
The President Operations will lead approximately 1700 employees across multiple production units and work closely with Production Engineering Quality Supply Chain Finance HR and Sales to ensure customer requirements are consistently met.
Manufacturing Operations:
- Lead manufacturing operations across multiple mini factories within the larger production ecosystem.
- Ensure production plans are executed on time and within budget.
- Improve throughput capacity utilization and manufacturing productivity.
- Reduce manufacturing lead time and optimize work-in-process (WIP) inventory.
- Balance capacity across all production departments.
- Reduce waste across all manufacturing processes.
- Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Improve productivity through data-driven decision-making.
- Drive operational excellence using measurable KPIs.
Production Planning:
- Ensure effective production scheduling and execution.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure material availability.
- Manage bottleneck resources.
- Improve production flow.
- Increase on-time delivery performance.
Quality:
- Reduce defects.
- Improve First Pass Yield (FPY).
- Eliminate customer complaints.
- Support compliance with ISO 13485 FDA MDR and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Promote a quality-first culture.
People Leadership:
- Lead coach and develop department heads.
- Build succession plans.
- Establish performance management systems.
- Improve employee engagement.
- Develop future production leaders.
- Foster a culture of accountability and ownership.
- Build collaboration across departments.
ERP & Digital Transformation:
- Support the successful implementation and continuous optimization of BC365.
- Drive accurate production reporting and improve data integrity.
- Utilize dashboards and operational KPIs to support timely decision making.
- Promote system discipline and data-driven management across manufacturing operations.
Cost Management:
- Improve labor productivity.
- Reduce manufacturing costs.
- Improve machine utilization.
- Reduce overtime.
- Optimize inventory levels.
Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Production Engineering or a related discipline.
- Masters degree or MBA preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of manufacturing experience including at least 8 years in a senior operations leadership role.
- Proven experience leading large multi-site manufacturing operations with more than 800 employees.
- Strong background in precision manufacturing metalworking or a comparable high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated success in improving productivity throughput capacity utilization quality and operational performance.
- Hands-on experience implementing and optimizing ERP systems preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC365) SAP Oracle or equivalent.
- Experience leading organizational change and building high-performing operational teams.
