The Role:
As a Junior Legal Counsel you will support the legal department in providing legal guidance and assistance to the organization. You will assist in ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations as well as supporting global operations from a legal standpoint. Among other things you will review legal documents support contract management conduct legal research and help mitigate legal risks. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical in-house legal experience while working closely with senior legal professionals and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Legal Support & Advisory:
- Assist in providing legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on various legal matters including contracts employment matters compliance and corporate governance with particular focus on Pakistani employment and labor law requirements.
- Support senior legal counsel in reviewing legal risks and offering practical legal solutions.
2. Contract Management:
- Assist in drafting reviewing and revising contracts agreements NDAs vendor agreements and other legal documents.
- Ensure contracts are aligned with company policies and legal requirements.
3. Compliance & Regulatory Support:
- Support the monitoring of changes in laws and regulations relevant to the business.
- Assist in maintaining compliance policies procedures and internal documentation.
- Help ensure adherence to applicable regulatory and legal standards.
4. Corporate Governance:
- Assist with corporate governance matters including maintaining legal records preparing resolutions and organizing corporate documentation.
- Support compliance with internal governance policies and procedures.
5. Legal Research & Documentation:
- Conduct legal research and prepare summaries reports and legal opinions for internal use.
- Stay updated on legal developments regulatory changes and industry practices.
6. Employment & Labor Law Support:
- Assist in handling employment-related documentation and provide support on employee relations matters.
- Support the review of employment agreements policies and HR-related legal matters.
- Assist in advising employees onboarding and offboarding documentation.
7. Litigation & Dispute Support:
- Assist in managing legal disputes and litigation matters by coordinating documentation and communication with external counsel where required.
- Support the preparation of legal notices and responses.
8. Intellectual Property Support:
- Assist in maintaining and protecting the companys intellectual property including trademarks copyrights and confidential information.
9. Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal and compliance risks and escalate concerns to senior legal counsel.
- Support initiatives aimed at reducing legal exposure and strengthening compliance processes.
Education:
- LLB degree from an accredited law school. LLM will be considered an added advantage.
Experience:
- Basic understanding of contract law employment law corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
- Strong legal research analytical and drafting skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of professionalism integrity and attention to detail.
