This role focuses on the design development and support of control system software for HMH equipment. The position involves programming PLC systems ensuring seamless integration across automation components and maintaining system performance through troubleshooting and continuous improvement. The engineer works closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver reliable and efficient control system solutions.
Job Responsibilities
- Program and develop HMH Equipment Control System solutions
- Diagnose and resolve issues in existing PLC systems to ensure optimal performance
- Ensure seamless integration of PLCs with other automation components and systems
- Deliver high-quality software designs that enhance system efficiency and reliability
- Produce clear and structured documentation for system users and stakeholders
- Collaborate with control system engineers developers and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive system functionality
- Participate in project meetings to review progress challenges and solutions
- Engage with users and stakeholders to collect feedback and support continuous system improvements
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to overall project execution and delivery
- Promote personal accountability for Health Safety Security and Environment (HSSE) in line with HMH policies
Required Qualifications
Education
Technical degree from a college or university. Relevant professional experience may compensate for lack of formal education.
Experience
Experience in control system software development including PLC programming and troubleshooting. Familiarity with automation systems and integration of control system components is required.

Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Siemens PLC platforms (Simatic Classic / TIA Portal and DasyLab)
- Experience with PLC programming languages (FBD STL SCL)
- Experience with industrial communication networks (Profinet Ethernet Profibus Modbus)
- Instrumentation and electrical knowledge is desirable
- Experience with process and/or machine control systems is an advantage
Languages
- Fluent in English
