Job Summary

In partnership with our client we are seeking a Training Content Developer to design and develop engaging impactful and business-focused learning content for a leading sportswear and lifestyle retail brand based in Lagos. You will create training materials that build product knowledge sharpen selling skills elevate customer service and embed brand culture across retail stores and support functions. From facilitator guides and e-learning modules to product storytelling content and interactive assessments your work will shape how hundreds of people learn and grow. Who are we looking for
  • You are a learning and development professional with 3 to 5 years of experience in training content development instructional design or a related field ideally within retail sportswear fashion lifestyle or FMCG.
  • You are a skilled content creator and storyteller able to translate complex product information and technical features into simple engaging and customer-focused learning experiences.
  • You are digitally fluent comfortable creating e-learning modules videos infographics animations and micro-learning content using tools like Canva Articulate or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • You are highly organised and detail-oriented able to manage multiple content projects simultaneously while maintaining consistency accuracy and alignment with brand guidelines.
  • You are a natural collaborator comfortable working across retail operations marketing merchandising HR and product teams to gather insights and develop relevant high-quality content.
  • You are creative and innovative always exploring new learning methodologies formats and technologies that improve engagement and knowledge retention.
  • You are a strong written and verbal communicator able to write clearly for diverse audiences and present ideas with confidence and credibility.
Your Responsibilities
Learning Content Development
  • You will design and develop high-quality training materials for classroom digital and self-learning programmes including facilitator guides participant workbooks presentations SOPs job aids quick reference guides and assessment tools.
  • You will develop structured learning journeys for onboarding functional capability leadership and behavioural training that support the growth and development of employees at all levels.
Product and Brand Training Content
  • You will develop seasonal product knowledge modules across footwear apparel accessories and sports categories creating engaging product storytelling content that enables teams to confidently educate and serve customers.
  • You will translate technical product features into simple customer-focused selling messages that resonate with both frontline staff and their customers.
  • You will localise global product training materials to suit the Nigerian market ensuring content is culturally relevant commercially accurate and practically applicable.
Customer Experience and Sales Capability
  • You will design training content focused on customer service excellence premium selling techniques consumer engagement retail operations visual merchandising and store standards.
  • You will develop role-play scenarios case studies quizzes and interactive learning exercises that bring concepts to life and drive real behaviour change on the shop floor.
Digital Learning and Innovation
  • You will create engaging e-learning modules videos infographics animations and micro-learning content that improve knowledge retention and learner engagement across digital platforms.
  • You will continuously explore innovative learning methodologies and technologies bringing fresh ideas that keep the learning experience relevant modern and effective.
Content Management
  • You will maintain an organised repository of all training materials and learning resources ensuring content remains updated consistent and aligned with global brand guidelines at all times.
  • You will support version control and periodic review of training materials ensuring nothing becomes outdated or out of step with the businesss evolving needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Training Effectiveness
  • You will work closely with the Training Lead and On Ground Trainer to identify learning needs and continuously improve training effectiveness across all programmes.
  • You will collaborate with retail operations marketing merchandising visual merchandising HR and product teams to develop content that is grounded in real business needs and priorities.
  • You will develop assessments certifications and evaluation tools to measure learning outcomes analyse learner feedback and support post-training impact measurement.

  • A consistent pipeline of high-quality well-structured training materials delivered on time and aligned with seasonal product launches onboarding cycles and capability development priorities.
  • Digital learning content that is engaging visually compelling and demonstrably improves knowledge retention and learner satisfaction scores.
  • All training materials maintained in an organised accessible and up-to-date repository with clear version control and alignment to global brand guidelines.
  • Measurable improvement in product knowledge selling confidence and customer service quality across retail teams evidenced by assessment results and performance data.
  • Strong cross-functional relationships that result in training content that is practically relevant commercially grounded and widely adopted by the business.
To be considered for this role you should have
  • A Bachelors degree in Business Education Learning and Development Marketing Communications or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in training content development instructional design or learning and development.
  • Experience in retail sportswear fashion lifestyle or FMCG is strongly preferred.
  • Experience developing digital learning content including e-learning modules videos and interactive media.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Office with experience in content creation tools such as Canva Articulate or Adobe Creative Suite being a strong advantage.
  • Strong instructional design content writing and visual communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
