School Accountant
Job Summary
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions including fees salaries procurement and other expenses.
Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements for management and board review.
Monitor cash flow accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure smooth financial operations.
Develop and manage the schools budget ensuring funds are allocated appropriately.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards tax regulations and school policies.
Prepare and file statutory returns (e.g. PAYE pensions taxes) in a timely manner.
Provide financial reports and analysis to support decision-making by school management.
School Operations Support
Manage student fee collection issue receipts and maintain accurate records of payments.
Work closely with the admissions and administration teams to reconcile student accounts.
Support payroll processing for teaching and non-teaching staff.
Assist in procurement processes by verifying invoices quotations and supplier payments.
Collaboration & Communication
Liaise with external auditors banks and regulatory authorities.
Communicate financial information clearly to management staff and stakeholders.
Provide guidance on financial matters to non-finance staff when required.
