Job Summary

About the Role

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for ensuring effective cost planning cost control contract administration and financial management of construction projects. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical expertise commercial awareness and a proven ability to deliver projects within budget while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates budgets and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for construction projects.

Monitor project costs and provide accurate cost planning and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Conduct feasibility studies cost analyses and risk assessments for proposed projects.

Prepare tender documents evaluate contractor and supplier quotations and provide procurement recommendations.

Manage contract administration including valuations variations claims and final accounts.

Prepare and submit interim valuations cost reports and financial forecasts to management.

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations company policies and regulatory requirements.

Monitor project progress and identify potential cost overruns recommending corrective actions where necessary.

Collaborate with project managers engineers architects contractors and clients to achieve project objectives.

Assist in negotiating contracts resolving commercial disputes and managing project financial risks.

Maintain accurate records of project expenditures contracts and financial documentation.

Requirements

Requirements

Bachelors Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying Construction Management or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years of proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

Professional certification and membership with a recognized body such as the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) and/or Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN) is mandatory.

Strong knowledge of construction contracts procurement processes cost control and project financial management.

Proficiency in quantity surveying software cost estimation tools Microsoft Office Suite and related applications.

Excellent analytical negotiation communication and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.

Required Skills:

. Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. Minimum of 5 years of experience with a strong focus on road construction. Registered with relevant engineering bodies (e.g. COREN NSE or equivalent international licensing). Deep knowledge of construction methods materials and regulatory standards in road infrastructure. Strong leadership team coordination and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and project documentation abilities. Proficiency in engineering and design software (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D MS Project). Willingness to travel and work across project sites in Nigeria.
