About the Role

The Programme Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the Country Programme team perform a variety of coordination and logistical services in support of the operations of programme activities and events and assist with information management for the team. S/he will provide effective and efficient support to the Country Team to ensure smooth delivery of programme activities and includes administrative logistical and information management assistance across the Country programmes as well as supporting the delivery of programme monitoring evaluation accountability and learning (MEAL) activities.

Based: Abuja Nigeria

Hours: Full-time

This will be your team:

The Country Team that you will be joining has16employees. You will report to the Programme Managerand you will join a team of 6people. You will have no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

During your internship you will:

  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned by the Programme Officer and or the Programme Manager
  • Populate and manage database tracking systems for routine Country Programme activities and field interventions.
  • Monitor update and flag variances within the Programme Units quarterly work plans and target-tracking logs.
  • Support internal capacity building by organizing data reports formatting training guides and managing logistics for monitoring system workshops.
  • Manage team calendars coordinate deadlines and issue timeline alerts for Programme Unit work plan schedules.
  • Support logistics for workshops training sessions and field visits.
  • Support local and cross-time zone virtual meetings and distribute minutes.
  • Support to process individual transit requests visa documentation support and accommodation books for Programme team deployments.
  • Administer secure digital and physical registries for all incoming project correspondence and meeting archives.
  • Initiate programme-related procurement pipelines vendor contract routing and facilitate prompt payment requests.
  • Draft formal letters validation query answers and brief updates for government counterparts and allies
  • Serve as the central communication conduit for partners ensuring critical deliverables advance during staff absences.

Who Were Looking For

  • Interested in disability inclusion human rights or international development.
  • Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
  • Open to working in a diverse inclusive and collaborative environment.
  • Applicant must possess a minimum of OND or equivalent in any field with a minimum of one years experience in semi-technical programme/project management and coordination monitoring and reporting related to disability and development.

Duration & Commitment

  • Duration:12 months
  • Office-based to maximise learning opportunities with remote or hybrid options available when necessary to ensure accessibility and/or flexibility.
