Job Purpose
The Procurement & Logistics Officer will be responsible for end-to-end procurement planning material sourcing and localized supply chain management. A critical component of this role is heavy fleet coordination and precise logistics accounting to ensure zero material delays and maximum cost efficiency across construction operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fleet Coordination & Logistics Management
Manage and dispatch heavy-duty fleet operations with a heavy focus on diesel tankers and tipper trucks.
Optimize vehicle turnaround times for critical material deliveries to prevent site downtime.
Supervise logistics tracking route efficiency and driver scheduling.
2. Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
Source and procure high-quality construction materials (aggregates cement sand steel etc.) and project equipment.
Leverage deep knowledge of the Southwest Nigerian construction market to secure the best vendor prices and reliable supply chains.
Handle vendor onboarding evaluate performance and lead commercial negotiations to optimize procurement budgets.
Coordinate equipment hiring parts replacement and purchasing processes.
3. Logistics Accounting & Cost Control
Strictly track and audit diesel consumption per equipment to identify discrepancies and prevent fuel leakages/theft.
Monitor procurement budgets track delivery workflows and manage inventory control for spare parts and onsite fuel reserves.
Maintain flawless up-to-date procurement documentation delivery notes and cost-efficiency records.
Requirements
Experience: 35 years of dedicated procurement and logistics experience strictly within civil engineering road construction or heavy infrastructure projects.
Fleet & Material Expertise: Proven track record managing tippers/tankers and sourcing bulk construction materials (sand aggregates cement) within Southwest Nigeria.
Accounting Skills: Strong analytical ability to handle precise fuel/diesel tracking and inventory auditing.
Education: Degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Business Administration or a related field.
Physical & Age Demands: Male candidate highly energetic and physically fit for constant on-site material inspection and vehicle monitoring.
Timeline: Ability to relocate and resume on-site within 46 weeks.
