Our Client
Our client a logistics company seeks to employ an Operations Officer. The Operations Officer will provide hands-on support for the Companys day-to-day logistics and operational activities. The role involves coordinating and monitoring the movement of goods supporting port-related operations following up on deliveries and assisting with packing handling and dispatch activities
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the day-to-day operational and logistics activities of the Company.
- Visit ports and other designated locations to support assigned operational activities and follow up on shipments.
- Assist with the coordination and monitoring of the movement of goods from collection to final delivery.
- Follow up on deliveries and ensure goods are delivered accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Support the handling packing loading offloading and dispatch of goods and materials as required.
- Assist with shipment tracking and provide updates on the status of assigned deliveries and operational activities.
- Liaise with drivers logistics partners vendors and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of operations.
- Follow up on operational documentation and ensure relevant records are properly maintained.
- Identify and promptly escalate delays discrepancies or other operational issues.
- Assist with inventory stock handling and movement of materials where required.
- Ensure proper handling and care of goods during packing transportation and delivery.
- Prepare and submit basic operational updates and reports when required.
- Comply with established operational procedures safety requirements and Company policies.
- Carry out other duties and assignments as may be assigned by management
Requirements
- A minimum of a First Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any relevant discipline.
- Previous experience in operations logistics supply chain freight forwarding or a related field will be an advantage.
- Willingness and ability to carry out field-based assignments including visits to ports delivery locations and other operational sites.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and hands-on environment.
- Good organisational and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain operations will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications will be beneficial.
Required Skills:
Strong knowledge of React Next-js. Bachelors degree in computer science Engineering or a related field. 3 years of professional experience as a Front-End Engineer preferably in the Logistic or ride-hailing services industry; with a proven track record of delivering high-quality web applications. Has experience in back-end technologies and frameworks is a plus (Java Python RESTful APIs) Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced agile environment.
