Job Summary

The Operations Officer is responsible for managing the day-to-day logistics operations to ensure timely efficient and cost-effective delivery of orders to customers. This role involves overseeing vehicle and delivery personnel management optimizing routes monitoring delivery performance ensuring safety standards and improving the overall operational workflow of the companys last-mile operations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Assist in planning coordinating and managing the last-mile delivery operations.

  • Monitor and maintain the companys fleet of delivery vehicles ensuring they are in good working condition. Oversee scheduling for routine vehicle maintenance handle emergency vehicle breakdowns and ensure timely vehicle repairs.

  • Track and report on key performance metrics related to delivery times vehicle utilization fuel consumption battery depletion and maintenance costs.

  • Collaborate with the Line manager to optimize delivery routes improve delivery speed and maximize efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations safety standards and legal requirements related to last-mile delivery services.

  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections maintenance repairs and delivery logs.

  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors for vehicle maintenance repairs and other service needs.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections for vehicles and ensure all deliveries meet health and safety standards.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures specific to last-mile delivery operations. Monitor and manage delivery budgets including battery charging maintenance vehicle acquisition and operational costs.

  • Participate in the recruitment training and development of delivery drivers and support staff to ensure high service quality.

  • Respond to and resolve any incidents or issues in a timely and efficient manner including customer complaints related to delivery.

  • Prepare and submit reports to the Line manager on delivery performance vehicle efficiency and operational issues.

  • Support process improvements and the implementation of technology to enhance delivery accuracy and reduce delivery times.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by their Line manager.



Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management Business or a related field is preferred.

  • 3 years experience in last-mile delivery logistics or fleet management operations.

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance logistics principles and last-mile delivery systems.

  • Proficiency in using logistics and fleet management software and systems.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to manage delivery operations effectively.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with drivers clients and third-party service providers.

  • Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
