Job Summary
In partnership with our client a leading womens health and fertility centre in Lagos we are seeking a Medical Officer and Practice Manager to provide both clinical and operational support for the HIFU service line and broader womens health services. This is a unique dual role that combines hands-on patient care with the operational oversight needed to keep a complex fast-moving clinical service running at its best. Who are we looking for
- You are a qualified medical doctor with full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and at least 4 years of post-NYSC clinical experience.
- You are patient-centred and empathetic with strong communication and counselling skills that help patients navigate complex health decisions with confidence and clarity.
- You are operationally minded able to manage clinical workflows staff coordination and administrative processes without losing focus on the quality of patient care.
- You are organised and detail-oriented maintaining accurate clinical records and operational reports with consistency and precision.
- You are a natural collaborator who works effectively within a multidisciplinary team of doctors nurses radiographers and administrative staff.
- You are curious and growth-oriented with a genuine interest in womens health fertility or minimally invasive procedures and a desire to develop your expertise in this space.
Your Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
- You will conduct patient consultations assessments and follow-up reviews for women presenting with fibroids and other gynaecological conditions.
- You will support patient evaluation and selection for HIFU and other minimally invasive procedures in collaboration with senior consultants.
- You will review imaging laboratory investigations and medical history contributing to accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- You will provide patient education and counselling on treatment options expectations and recovery ensuring every patient feels informed and supported throughout their care journey.
- You will support pre-procedure and post-procedure clinical care pathways and maintain accurate clinical documentation and electronic medical records at all times.
- You will participate in clinical audits case discussions and quality improvement initiatives.
HIFU Service Support
- You will coordinate scheduling and workflow for HIFU procedures ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery from start to finish.
- You will support multidisciplinary communication between doctors nurses radiographers and administrative teams throughout the patient journey.
- You will monitor patient experience and continuity of care identifying gaps and working with the team to address them proactively.
- You will assist with patient outcome tracking and reporting and support awareness programmes and patient seminars related to HIFU services.
Practice Management
- You will oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the clinic service line ensuring smooth patient flow appointment management and service coordination.
- You will support the implementation of operational policies and clinical protocols coordinating staff schedules and supporting performance monitoring where required.
- You will monitor inventory and coordinate the procurement of clinical consumables and supplies to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
- You will support billing coordination operational KPI tracking and reporting ensuring leadership has clear and accurate data at all times.
- You will ensure compliance with healthcare regulations quality standards and patient confidentiality requirements across all aspects of the service.
What Success looks like
- Consistently high quality patient consultations and clinical support delivered across the HIFU service line with strong patient satisfaction and continuity of care.
- Smooth day-to-day operational management of the clinic with efficient patient flow accurate scheduling and well-coordinated staff and resources.
- Accurate and complete clinical documentation and operational reporting maintained at all times supporting audit readiness and management decision-making.
- Active contribution to quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits that continuously raise the standard of care within the service.
- A well-functioning multidisciplinary team supported by strong coordination clear communication and consistent operational oversight.
To be considered for this role you should have
- An MBBS or equivalent medical degree with full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
- A minimum of 4 years of post-NYSC clinical experience.
- Experience or a genuine interest in womens health fertility radiology or minimally invasive procedures is a strong advantage.
- Previous healthcare operations or practice management experience is desirable.
- Strong patient communication counselling and documentation skills.
- Organisational and multitasking abilities with experience coordinating within a multidisciplinary clinical environment.
- Proficiency in EMR systems and Microsoft Office tools.
