Marketing Director
Job Summary
- Design and implement a structured proactive marketing function moving the business from reactive to planned.
- Establish processes planning cycles and governance frameworks that create clarity and accountability.
- Build develop and mentor a high-performing marketing team.
- Own the annual marketing budget; planning allocation and stewardship.
- Set clear KPIs for the department and ensure consistent performance tracking and reporting.
- Develop and guard the overall brand strategy ensuring consistency across every consumer touchpoint.
- Define the brand positioning identity and tone of voice.
- Oversee all brand guidelines and ensure they are applied across internal and external communications.
- Conduct regular brand health tracking and competitive analysis.
- Manage agency relationships; creative media PR and digital.
- Own the product portfolio strategy with a medium-to-long-term perspective.
- Lead new product development (NPD) end to end from insight generation through to launch and post-launch review.
- Manage the product lifecycle; knowing when to grow refresh or phase out.
- Drive innovation as a core part of the marketing agenda staying ahead of category and consumer trends.
- Develop and own the companys pricing architecture.
- Ensure pricing reflects brand positioning competitive dynamics and commercial goals.
- Monitor price elasticity and make recommendations based on market intelligence.
- Partner with sales and commercial teams on pricing execution in trade.
- Develop trade marketing strategies that drive sell-in and sell-out at point of purchase.
- Build promotional mechanics and in-store visibility programmes in collaboration with the sales team.
- Ensure brand experience is consistent from above-the-line to shelf level.
- Lead integrated communications strategy across ATL BTL and digital channels.
- Be hands-on with digital platforms including TikTok knowing what works what tools to use and how to show up in culture.
- Oversee media planning and buying strategy.
- Drive PR and earned media activity to build brand awareness and reputation.
- Manage the companys digital presence including website social media and email marketing.
- Place the consumer at the centre of every decision.
- Commission and interpret consumer research; qualitative and quantitative.
- Use data analytics to inform strategy measure performance and optimise marketing spend.
- Track category trends shopper behaviour and competitor activity.
- Build a culture of insight within the marketing team.
- Be a strategic partner to the General Manager.
- Help position this as a marketing-led company.
- Represent marketing at the executive level contributing to overall business strategy.
- Influence cross-functional teams; sales finance supply chain to embed marketing thinking across the business.
- Foster a culture of creativity accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
- Bachelors degree in Marketing Business Administration or a related field; MBA is an advantage.
- Minimum of 810 years of progressive marketing experience with at least 35 years in a senior leadership role.
- Background in consumer goods or FMCG is strongly preferred.
- International education or significant global professional exposure.
- Experience working across different business scales from well-resourced environments to leaner agile organisations where creativity and resourcefulness drive results.
