Job Summary

In partnership with our client a leading womens health and fertility centre in Lagos we are seeking a HIFU Gynaecologist to join a growing clinical team delivering pioneering fibroid care across Nigeria. This is more than a clinical role. It is an opportunity to be trained in one of the most advanced non-invasive procedures available in womens health contribute to a service that is transforming patient outcomes and build a long-term career at the forefront of reproductive and gynaecological medicine. Successful candidates will be sponsored for a comprehensive three-phase training programme including technical and clinical training in China before commencing full clinical practice in Lagos with rotations to centres in Abuja and Asaba.

Your Responsibilities
Clinical Care and amp; Patient Management
  • You will conduct specialist consultations assessments and follow-up reviews for women presenting with uterine fibroids and other gynaecological conditions.
  • You will evaluate patients and determine their suitability for HIFU and other minimally invasive treatment options.
  • You will perform and supervise HIFU procedures in accordance with established clinical protocols and patient safety standards.
  • You will provide comprehensive patient education and counselling regarding treatment options procedural expectations risks benefits and recovery pathways.
  • You will manage pre-procedure and post-procedure care ensuring patients receive excellent clinical support throughout their treatment journey.
  • You will review imaging studies laboratory results and relevant clinical information in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • You will maintain complete accurate and timely clinical documentation within the organisations medical record systems.
Service Development and amp; Continuous Improvement
  • You will contribute to the growth and development of the HIFU and fibroid care programme through clinical excellence and patient advocacy.
  • You will participate in clinical audits case reviews morbidity meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
  • You will support patient awareness campaigns educational seminars and community outreach programmes focused on fibroid care and womens health.
  • You will contribute to research activities treatment outcome tracking and evidence-based clinical practice.
  • You will assist in mentoring junior doctors medical officers and clinical staff on womens health protocols and HIFU workflows.
Collaboration and amp; Clinical Governance
  • You will work closely with radiographers nurses medical officers embryologists and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care and operational efficiency.
  • You will participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to shared clinical decision-making.
  • You will ensure compliance with MDCN regulations patient confidentiality requirements organisational policies and clinical governance standards.
  • You will support the continuous review and enhancement of treatment protocols patient pathways and clinical procedures.
What Success looks like
  • Consistently achieving monthly patient consultation targets as defined by the clinical leadership team.
  • Maintaining HIFU procedure outcomes within approved clinical safety and complication thresholds.
  • Ensuring 100% completion and accuracy of clinical documentation within 24 hours of patient interactions.
  • Achieving and maintaining patient satisfaction ratings of at least 70% across consultation and treatment feedback surveys.
  • Successfully completing all phases of the HIFU and reproductive medicine training programme within the stipulated timelines.
  • Actively contributing to clinical audits continuous medical education activities and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Building a reputation as a trusted specialist in fibroid management and minimally invasive womens health procedures.
To be considered for this role you should have
  • An MBBS degree or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) Fellowship of the Medical College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Nigeria (FMCOG) or an equivalent recognised specialist qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • Full and current registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • A valid international passport and availability to travel to China within one month of receiving an offer.
  • Willingness to participate in the full training programme and sign a three-year service bond.
  • Willingness to rotate between Lagos Abuja and Asaba based on service requirements.
  • Strong clinical decision-making patient management and communication skills.
  • Experience or demonstrated interest in fibroid management minimally invasive procedures reproductive medicine or ultrasound-guided interventions will be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems is desirable.
