Job Summary

ROLE PURPOSE

The Group Head of Talent & Culture is responsible for building one of Africas most admired organisational cultures and leadership systems. The role exists to ensure that the Group consistently attracts exceptional talent develops outstanding leaders preserves its culture during rapid growth and creates an environment where high-performing people can achieve extraordinary results. This role is not responsible for administering Human Resources. It is responsible for architecting the people capability that enables the Group to achieve its long-term vision.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Strategic Workforce Planning
Develop and maintain a long-term workforce strategy aligned with the Groups growth plans.
Identify future capability requirements before they become business constraints.
Develop succession plans for all critical leadership positions.

Recruitment & Executive Talent
Design and implement a world-class recruitment strategy.
Build sustainable talent pipelines.
Ensure every recruitment decision raises the standard of the organisation.
Lead executive search for key leadership appointments.

Culture Development
Define document and embed the Groups culture across all operating companies.
Ensure every employee understands the Groups mission vision values and leadership principles.
Protect the culture during periods of rapid expansion.

Leadership Development
Develop leadership capability at every organisational level.
Create structured programmes for first-line managers middle managers and executives.
Coach leaders to become builders of future leaders.

Performance Management
Design and implement a transparent fair and high-performance management framework.
Align organisational goals with departmental objectives and individual performance.
Promote accountability while supporting employee growth.

Learning & Development
Create a continuous learning environment.
Develop technical leadership and commercial learning pathways.
Ensure employees continually improve their skills.

Employee Experience
Design an outstanding employee journey from recruitment through onboarding career development and long-term retention.
Measure employee engagement and implement continuous improvements.

Employer Branding
Position the Group as one of the most desirable employers within Africa.
Develop relationships with universities professional bodies and industry communities.
Promote the Groups employer brand across digital and traditional channels.

Organisational Design
Continuously review organisational structures to ensure agility accountability and scalability.
Recommend structural improvements that support business performance.

People Analytics
Develop executive dashboards covering recruitment retention engagement diversity leadership pipeline productivity and organisational capability.
Provide data-driven recommendations to Executive Management.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 812 years progressive experience in Human Resources Talent Management Organisational Development or People & Culture.
  • Experience within fast-growing organisations.
  • Demonstrated success in recruitment leadership development and organisational design.
  • Experience advising senior executives.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR governance.
Desirable
  • Experience within technology telecommunications media entertainment or high-growth digital businesses.
  • Experience building HR functions from the ground up.
  • Experience supporting organisational transformation.
  • International exposure across multiple markets.
  • Professional HR qualifications and relevant postgraduate education.



Required Skills:
