Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Fraud Monitoring & Detection: Monitor fraud alerts transaction activity dashboards investigation queues and inbound reports to identify suspected fraudulent activity and potential risk.
  • Case Investigation: Conduct end-to-end investigations into suspected fraud by reviewing transaction history account activity customer information and other relevant evidence to determine appropriate outcomes.
  • Transaction Analysis: Analyse transaction and behavioural data to identify unusual patterns fraud trends emerging typologies and potential areas of exposure.
  • Evidence Assessment: Gather review and evaluate relevant information and evidence to support investigation findings and case decisions.
  • Case Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of investigations findings actions and outcomes on the Fraud Incident Tracker.
  • Risk Escalation: Identify and promptly escalate complex high-value or high-risk cases in line with established escalation procedures.
  • Fraud Recovery: Support fund recovery efforts by coordinating with internal teams financial institutions payment partners customers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Engineering Compliance Customer Support and other relevant teams to investigate and resolve fraud-related incidents.
  • Control Improvement: Identify gaps in existing processes controls and fraud detection mechanisms and recommend improvements based on investigation findings.
  • Fraud Prevention: Contribute to the refinement of fraud monitoring rules investigative processes and preventive controls based on emerging risks and observed fraud patterns.
  • Incident Resolution: Ensure investigations and required follow-up actions are completed within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed on emerging fraud trends digital fraud techniques and relevant industry developments to support proactive fraud risk management.


  • 24 years of relevant experience in fraud investigations fraud monitoring banking fintech operations risk compliance or a related function.
  • Hands-on experience investigating fraudulent transactions account activity payment disputes or other financial crime-related incidents.
  • Familiarity with fraud monitoring transaction monitoring case management or investigation tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret transaction and behavioural data identify patterns and connect relevant information to support investigations.
  • Working knowledge of digital forensic investigation techniques and evidence-gathering principles.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to make sound evidence-based decisions particularly when working under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear concise and well-structured investigation reports and case documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving and investigative mindset with the ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
