The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial operations managing donor funds ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and providing strategic financial insights to support organizational growth and sustainability.
Core Responsibilities
1. Grant & Fund Management
Track monitor and report on restricted funds and grants
Ensure all expenditures align with donor regulations and approved budgets
Monitor grant milestones and reporting timelines
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
Develop annual organizational and project-specific budgets
Prepare periodic cash flow forecasts
Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights
3. Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements
Present financial reports to management and Board of Directors
Simplify financial data for non-financial stakeholders
4. Compliance & Audit Preparation
Coordinate annual external audits and tax filings
Ensure compliance with GAAP and local regulatory requirements
Maintain adherence to donor and tax-exempt guidelines
5. Day-to-Day Accounting Operations
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
Manage payroll and financial controls
Maintain and optimize accounting systems and chart of accounts

Key Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of 4 years experience in non-profit finance accounting or grants management
Education & Certification
Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or Business Administration
Professional certification (ACA CFA) is required
Technical Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Experience with accounting or fund-accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
Compliance Knowledge
Strong understanding of donor regulations (e.g. UN USAID EU or similar institutions)
Soft Skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to collaborate across teams.
