About the Role

Finance Intern

The role works directly with the Finance Officer to manage the CT accounting and closely with the Country Finance Manager and other CBM Global staff.

Follow all CBM Global policies procedures grant compliance and documentation requirements

Based: Abuja Nigeria

Hours: Full-time

This will be your team:

The Country Team that you will be joining has 16 employees. You will report to the Finance Officer and you will join a team of 4 people. You will have no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

During your internship you will:

  • Receive and review payment request and invoices.
  • Prepare payment request and bank payment voucher
  • Manage petty cash
  • Retrieve and review all retirement of advances and submit to Finance Officer.
  • Support to prepare all statutory deduction and remit timely in line with relevant regulations.
  • Assist in preparation and processing bank payments online download and attach payment advice and upload details for multiple payments
  • Assist in tracking returned payments and follow up with participants and vendors for correction.
  • Assist in ensuring all finance documents and reports are properly filed labelled and stored in a clear and easily accessible manner.
  • Support in quarterly verification and validation of assets and asset register. Prepare report of such exercise and submit to the Finance Manager.
  • Receive check and submit travel advance claims from staff to Finance Officer
  • Be adaptable and flexible to take new tasks and new assignments as requested from time to time.

Who Were Looking For

  • Applicant must possess a minimum of OND in Accounting
  • Good computer skills in MS Office programs particularly Excel and any accounting software experience

Duration & Commitment

  • Duration: 12 months
  • Office-based to maximise learning opportunities with remote or hybrid options available when necessary to ensure accessibility and/or flexibility.
  • This position is based in Abuja Nigeria.
