Job Summary
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for guiding engineering teams in designing building deploying and maintaining scalable digital products and platforms across Seismic Tech. You will work closely with product managers designers business stakeholders and engineers to translate complex requirements into reliable secure and high-performing technology solutions.
This is a hands-on engineering leadership role. While you will provide technical direction and manage engineering delivery you are expected to actively contribute to architecture decisions code reviews debugging system design technical problem-solving and engineering standards.
- Provide technical leadership across engineering teams and projects.
- Drive architectural decisions and ensure solutions are scalable secure and maintainable.
- Review technical designs and guide engineers in selecting appropriate approaches.
- Establish engineering standards coding practices and development principles.
- Provide the engineering judgement required for complex technical decisions.
- Remain actively involved in software development debugging technical reviews and system improvement.
- Review code and technical implementations to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Support engineers in resolving complex technical challenges.
- Participate in architecture discussions system design and technology evaluations.
- Contribute directly to critical engineering initiatives where required.
- Work closely with product managers and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Support planning prioritisation estimation and delivery of engineering initiatives.
- Ensure engineering teams deliver reliable products within agreed timelines.
- Balance business objectives with technical quality and long-term sustainability.
- Lead mentor and develop engineering team members.
- Build a culture of ownership accountability learning and technical excellence.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Support recruitment onboarding and growth of engineering talent.
- Ensure systems meet requirements for availability scalability and performance.
- Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks and production issues.

- 7 years of software engineering experience with experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong background in backend or full-stack software development.
- Proven experience designing and delivering scalable production systems.
- Strong understanding of software architecture system design and engineering best practices.
- Experience working with cloud infrastructure such as AWS Azure or GCP.
- Experience with modern software development workflows CI/CD testing and deployment practices.
- Strong programming experience in languages such as Python JavaScript/TypeScript or similar technologies.
You have deep engineering fundamentals and understand that great software requires strong architecture quality practices thoughtful design and continuous improvement.
You are comfortable reviewing code debugging complex issues contributing to technical solutions and working directly with engineering teams.
You understand that engineering exists to solve real problems. You can balance technical decisions with user needs business objectives and delivery priorities.

Required Skills:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in AI/ML model development and deployment. Proficiency in Python (preferred) with experience in ML libraries (e.g. scikit-learn TensorFlow PyTorch). Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms neural networks and statistical modeling. Experience with data manipulation tools (e.g. Pandas NumPy) and SQL. Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure GCP) and ML Ops tools (e.g. MLflow Kubeflow). Solid understanding of software engineering practices including version control (Git) testing and CI/CD pipelines. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Would be Nice-to-Have: Experience with natural language processing (NLP) computer vision or recommendation systems. Exposure to large language models (e.g. GPT BERT) and generative AI tools. Knowledge of model interpretability and fairness techniques. Published research or contributions to open-source ML projects.
Required Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Data Science Statistics Mathematics or a related field.
