Job Summary
- Conduct legal research and provide sound legal opinions on dispute resolution litigation insolvency and restructuring matters.
- Draft pleadings motions affidavits written addresses legal memoranda and other court processes.
- Represent clients in court proceedings mediations arbitrations and other dispute resolution forums under supervision where required.
- Assist in managing litigation portfolios and ensuring compliance with procedural timelines and court requirements.
- Support insolvency and restructuring engagements including receiverships liquidations business rescue and debt recovery matters.
- Review and analyze contracts financial documents and other relevant materials in relation to contentious matters.
- Participate in client meetings witness interviews and strategy sessions.
- Prepare case summaries reports and updates for clients and partners.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting dispute resolution and insolvency practice.
- Contribute to business development initiatives thought leadership and knowledge management activities within the practice group.
- LL.B degree from a recognized university and qualification to practice law.
- 35 years of post-qualification experience in dispute resolution litigation insolvency or a related practice area.
- Strong advocacy drafting and legal research skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Sound understanding of civil procedure rules and insolvency laws.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research tools.
