At CareerBuddy were building a media brand that helps African professionals navigate work careers leadership ambition AI workplace culture and everything in between. As our Content Associate youll help transform everyday workplace conversations into thoughtful articles newsletters interviews and social content that people genuinely connect with. This role is for someone who wants to build meaningful editorial work not generic career advice.

Your Responsibilities
Writing and amp; Editorial
- You will write blog articles newsletter sections captions scripts summaries and social-first content.
- You will support CareerBuddys editorial publications including newsletters and recurring content series.
- You will transform broad workplace topics into engaging insightful and useful stories.
- You will proofread edit and refine content to maintain CareerBuddys editorial standards.
Blog and amp; SEO
- You will research and write high-quality blog content around careers salary leadership AI workplace culture job search women at work and the future of work.
- You will improve blog performance through better headlines introductions internal linking and SEO optimization.
- You will research audience questions and keywords to strengthen editorial performance.
Newsletter Development
- You will support the planning research and writing of CareerBuddy newsletters.
- You will identify compelling workplace conversations trends and debates to feature in newsletters.
- You will improve newsletter engagement through stronger storytelling and audience-focused writing.
Interviews and amp; Storytelling
- You will source and coordinate interviews with professionals founders HR leaders recruiters and community members.
- You will conduct or support 35 interviews every month.
- You will turn interviews into articles newsletters social posts reels and other editorial formats.
- You will build and maintain a growing library of workplace stories and audience insights.
Content Operations
- You will manage content trackers interview trackers and editorial documentation.
- You will support the editorial calendar from idea generation through publication.
- You will collaborate with designers editors and social media teams to deliver high-quality content.
- You will manage CareerBuddys LinkedIn page ensuring consistent engaging and audience-focused content.
What Success looks like
- Publish consistent high-quality editorial content that reflects CareerBuddys unique voice.
- Support 35 meaningful interviews every month.
- Maintain organized editorial workflows story banks and content trackers.
- Improve newsletter quality reader engagement and audience retention.
- Increase engagement on CareerBuddys LinkedIn page through relevant thoughtful content.
- Consistently produce content that readers save share and actively discuss.
To be considered for this role you should have
Your application is successful only if you fill this form: years of experience in writing journalism editorial newsletters blogging or content creation.Excellent writing editing and proofreading skills. Strong research and storytelling ability. Genuine interest in careers leadership workplace culture media and the future of work. Understanding of social media content formats and audience behavior. Ability to conduct interviews or willingness to learn. Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills. Basic SEO knowledge is an advantage. Experience using CMS platforms Canva Notion Google Docs or newsletter platforms is an added advantage.
