Water Operator

Were looking for a Water Operator to join our Three Waters team here in Whanganui. If youre someone who likes working with your hands takes pride in doing a good job and wants to play an important part in keeping the communitys water running this could be the role for you.

Day to day youll be out operating and maintaining our bores reservoirs pump stations and pipe networks collecting water samples responding to maintenance issues and helping out with emergency repairs when they come up. Youll also be part of an after-hours call-out roster so flexibility is a must. This is a permanent full-time position.

What youll bring:

• Experience in water supply plumbing or a similar trade
• A NZ Certificate in Water Treatment Level 3 or 4 or keen to work towards it
• A current NZ drivers licence
• Strong record keeping and communication skills
• A solid commitment to health and safety
• Great initiative and the ability to work well as part of a team

The right attitude reliability and willingness to learn are the most important qualities. Full on-the-job training can be provided for the successful applicant.
