Te kōwhiringa The Opportunity
Downers Energy Transmission team is looking for a hands-on Team Leader to join our Foundations crew based from Palmerston North.

This is a practical field-based leadership role supporting transmission tower foundation works including pylons excavation concreting plant operation and quality assurance. Youll be leading jobs on site while staying hands-on with the crew making sure work is delivered safely to standard and with the right paperwork in place.

Youll work alongside electrical infrastructure and live circuits as part of critical transmission projects. Exposure to this environment is beneficial however will be training provided.

The role is based from Valor Drive Palmerston North however travel is a big part of this position. Youll mobilise with the wider team across Taranaki Taupō Manawatū and surrounding areas with around 85% of your working time spent away from home.

Nga pūkenga matua Important Skills
Were looking for experienced operators or construction leaders who are confident working with foundations leading crews and who dont mind working in rough terrain with regular travel away from home.

Youll bring:

• Experience in civil construction foundations concrete or similar hands-on field work
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to run jobs and support a crew on site
• A Class 2 licence with confidence driving trucks and operating heavy equipment
• Excavator experience with 8 to 12 tonne machines
• Wheels Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsements
• Good attention to detail with quality assurance paperwork and job documentation

Experience in transmission tower foundations pylon work or electrical environments would be a strong advantage but its not essential if you bring the right construction background and attitude.
