Job Summary

Reporting to the Financial Controller Noel Leeming this role takes end-to-end ownership of rebates with a strong focus on driving deeper insight and continuous improvement in this area. While rebates will form the core of your responsibilities the role also offers exposure to broader financial accounting activities providing a clear pathway for career development and growth. Were looking for someone who is curious detail-oriented and keen to get under the hood with the majority of their time dedicated to strengthening and evolving our rebates processes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing end-to-end accounting for supplier rebates including volume rebates promotional funding and marketing contributions
  • Ensuring accurate recognition of rebate income in line with contractual agreements and accounting standards
  • Maintaining detailed rebate schedules and supporting documentation as required for internal and external audit engagements
  • Preparation and maintenance of robust balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Providing clear guidance and oversight of transactional and administrative rebates tasks performed by offshore teams
  • Delivery of accurate and timely month end close activities including journal preparation and posting of accruals and reclassifications
  • Effectively working with various stakeholders including buyers wider finance teams and external suppliers
  • General Financial Accounting activities

Qualifications :

Excellent stakeholder management skills strong initiative and a curious/inquiring nature describe you to a t.  Being solution focused you are quite comfortable rolling up your sleeves and investigating and carrying out detailed analysis.  We want to bring on board a Rebate Accountant who is passionate about collaboration best practice and continuous improvement. We will rely on your resilience self-motivation and ability to influence those around you to achieve desired outcomes.

Our wish-list also includes:

  • CA Qualification or working towards - but we are also open to relevant experience
  • Previous Rebate accounting experience is a must
  • Strong analytical and excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and process
  • A knack for process improvement
