Job Summary

Youll take accountability for managing and driving the buying and success of the Computers category - from sourcing and supplier negotiations to range planning and commercial execution. Your ability to spot trends create compelling assortments and deliver outstanding results will be instrumental to the success of this dynamic category. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Category Ownership: Delivering engaging and competitive product ranges aligned to customer needs and market trends. 
  • Market Insight: Stay ahead of emerging trends and innovations in the Computers sector positioning our offer to capture market share and customer loyalty.
  • Supplier Engagement: Build and strengthen relationships with global and local suppliers negotiating favourable terms to secure quality products and optimal value.
  • Commercial Delivery: Execute and optimise buying strategies that drive profitable growth and align with broader business objectives. 
  • Data & Insights: Use customer insights market analysis and sales data to make informed customer-first decisions. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with planning marketing and merchandising teams to ensure successful delivery and execution of ranges across all channels. 

Note: There will be some travel involved through the year so flexibility to travel on average 3 - 4 times per year is required! 


Qualifications :

  • Significant Buying Experience: 5 years experience in buying Computers category experience preferred but not essential. Experience buying in technology/consumer electronics ideal
  • Commercial Mindset: Strong analytical and financial skills with the ability to balance creativity with business priorities. 
  • Confident Negotiator: Skilled at negotiating with suppliers to deliver value and quality for both the customer and the business. 
  • Customer Focused: A deep understanding of what drives customer choice and the ability to translate this into commercially successful ranges. 
  • Highly Collaborative: Strong stakeholder engagement skills able to influence and work effectively across teams and functions. 
  • Proactive & Decisive: Comfortable working at pace and taking ownership to deliver tangible results.
