Solar PV Project Manager

Help deliver complex solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across New Zealand working directly with leading renewable energy clients through development design and delivery phases.

This is a client-facing role combining project management technical coordination and strategic problem-solving across a rapidly growing renewables market supported by Aurecons wider Solar PV and BESS specialists across New Zealand and APAC.

What Youll Do

• Manage diverse solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects throughout development and delivery for utility-scale developers in New Zealand.
• Lead or contribute to owners engineering due diligence lenders technical advisory and design services within Aurecons comprehensive service portfolio.
• Take ownership of projects post-onboarding ensuring client satisfaction under your autonomy.
• Demonstrate strong management and communication skills while collaborating with clients and internal specialists.
• Develop strong relationships with both clients and internal specialists to deliver successful project outcomes based on project needs and availability.

What Youll Bring

• Ideally a minimum of 6 years experience in the power industry and 3 years of experience in the commercial or utility-scale solar PV sector.
• Strong understanding of the project development and delivery lifecycle from early approvals and grid connection through to construction and operations
• Experience with grid connection of generation plants and interaction with Transpower and the System Operator.
• Bachelors degree in electrical engineering preferred with other engineering disciplines (Mechanical Civil) considered.
• Familiarity with industry tools such as PVsyst AutoCAD PVcase Rated Power or SAM by NREL.
• Extensive familiarity with the Microsoft environment including Word Excel PowerPoint Teams and SharePoint.
• Familiarity with CRM/ERM platforms like MS Dynamics is an advantage.
• Valid Class 1 New Zealand drivers license and full flexibility to travel across New Zealand and APAC.
