As an Environmental Analyst youll play a key role in monitoring environmental impacts managing odour control and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Reporting to the Environmental Engineer onsite youll carry out field sampling and testing coordinate with laboratories and provide analytical insights that support continuous improvement and environmental stewardship.
Key responsibilities.
- Conducting environmental sampling and analysis across air water and soil to support compliance with consents and management plans.
- Taking full ownership of odour monitoring complaint investigations and reporting.
- Operating odour control equipment and ensuring full compliance with the Landfill Odour Management Plan.
- Collecting preparing and dispatching environmental samples for external laboratory analysis.
- Coordinating with laboratories to ensure efficient turnaround and accuracy of test results.
- Contributing to internal audits and external compliance reporting.
- Supporting other environmental projects as directed by the Manager.
Qualifications :
What youll need.
- A tertiary qualification in environmental science engineering or a related discipline.
- A calibrated nose for odour testing and the ability to follow procedures precisely.
- Strong data management and reporting skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong coordination skills and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.
- Experience in monitoring testing or laboratory support roles is highly advantageous.
- Hold a Full New Zealand drivers licence.
