This is a great opportunity for a skilled Drainlayer who takes pride in delivering high-quality work while leading and supporting a crew on-site.

Youll be responsible for coordinating day-to-day drainage operations ensuring works are completed in line with project plans specifications and targets. From allocating tasks and managing materials through to operating plant and supporting your crew youll play a key role in keeping projects running efficiently and safely.

Working closely with Supervisors Project Managers and wider teams you will ensure that all activities meet safety quality environmental and productivity targets. Youll also be responsible for maintaining accurate records monitoring plant performance and ensuring equipment is used and maintained to a high standard.

This role requires a balance of leadership and hands-on delivery. Youll be on-site guiding your crew troubleshooting issues liaising with clients and the public and ensuring work is completed to a high standard while maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.

Youll also contribute to a strong Zero Harm culture promoting safe work practices and ensuring all team members operate in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

Mōu koe About You
You will bring:

  • NZQA Level 4 Drainlaying qualification or a provisional licence with the Plumbers Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board
  • Proven experience in drainage construction including pipelaying and related activities
  • Experience operating plant and equipment in a civil or drainage environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate small crews effectively
  • Strong understanding of safety environmental and quality requirements on-site
  • Ability to plan organise and allocate work to meet project targets
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients stakeholders and the public
  • Commitment to accurate record-keeping and reporting
  • Full Class 1 driver licence (W T R endorsements advantageous)
  • Experience in butt welding pipe bursting or electrofusion (advantageous)
