Job Description:

Johnson and Johnson is recruiting for a Materials Science Scientist .


Position Summary:

The Materials Science Scientist is responsible for lifecycle management (LCM d in commercial manufacturing. The role ensures technical quality and business requirements are met to enable robust compliant supply and product performance. The position acts as a key Materials Science point of contact for product lifecycle activities supporting material readiness change management and external manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end lifecycle management of raw materials across commercial products
  • Provide technical leadership in supplier/material selection qualification and issue resolution in partnership with MSAT Quality Regulatory Operations Planning Procurement and other relevant partners.
  • Assess impact of supplier and site-driven raw material changes
  • Provide materials science input into change controls comparability and regulatory impact assessments
  • Support product lifecycle activities including non-conformances investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Serve as Materials Science point of contact for internal/external manufacturing sites and CMOs
  • Perform and/or review material risk assessments and ensure appropriate control strategies are defined
  • Establish and maintain raw material control strategies including specifications and other documents
  • Provide inspection-ready documentation and ensure compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • MSc or PhD or equivalent in Material Science Biotechnology Pharmacy Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or related field
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment is required
  • Understanding of raw materials impact on process and product qualityis required
  • Experience with investigations root cause analysis risk assessments and statistical process controls is required
  • Experience working with external manufacturing sites or CMOs is preferred
  • Strong collaboration and communication skillsis required
  • Working knowledge of GMP and applicable regulatory frameworks is required

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

64000.00 - 103040.00
