Purpose:

Performs calibration to basic dimensional equipment as well as with pressure measuring instruments temperature scales timers and tachometers with a moderate degree of difficulty. Fills calibration service reports and enters the obtained information in the system. The activities of this position require de direct supervision of the Senior Calibration Technician.
If CSS Position: This position will have responsibilities across ETHICON and Cardiovascular and Specialty Solution (CSS) Companies Johnson and Johnson Family of Companies) including a span of multiple product platforms such as General Surgical Devices Sutures ENT Infection Prevention Electrophysiology and Surgical and Non-Surgical Aesthetics.

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines this position: Under limited supervision and in accordance with all applicable federal state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines this position:

Techniques:

• Performs calibrations to dimensional equipment using equipment such as optical comparator vision system and/or pattern blocks.

• Performs calibration to equipment which indicates pressure and temperature with a moderate degree of difficulty and by using the Standards thermocouples and connectors indicated by the Senior Calibration Technician.

• Calibrates scales timers and tachometers by using the standards indicated by the Senior Calibration Technician.

Documentation:

• Records the readings obtained in the measuring on the calibration certificates. Follows the calibration procedures to perform his/her tasks.

• Enters the information of the calibration certificates in the system (PILGRIM). Labels and identifies the equipment in which he/she performs calibration.

• Follows the Good Manufacturing Practices procedures (GMPs).

• Applies the regulations stated by the metrology international standards such as ISO 17025 Guide 25 ANSI and others.

Organization:

• Maintains his/her place of work clean and organized.

• Can provide technical assistance and guidance to lower level technicians.

• Provides support and follows instructions from the Calibration Senior and Principal Technicians.

• Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.

• Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.

• For those who supervise or manage a staff responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition if applicable.

• Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal State local and Company regulations policies and procedures.

• Performs other duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications / Requirements:

EDUCATION: Technical studies: Electromechanical Technician or Instrumentalist Technician.
JOB EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience with measuring equipment such as optical comparator vision systems micrometers verniers pattern blocks pressure and temperature standards speed time and dead weight voltage generator current and frequency

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

• Knowledge of Mechanics and Electricity.
• Basic knowledge of Metrology International Regulations.
• Reading and interpretation of mechanical and electrical blueprints.
• Use and application of programs in Windows and MS Office.
• Ability to read and understand English at least 50%
