We are seeking an experienced Principal (Senior) Cloud Engineer to design build and maintain secure scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure solutions across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Azure environments.
In this role you will lead the implementation of cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) automation frameworks and DevOps best practices. You will work closely with Infrastructure DevOps Product Engineering Data QA and Architecture teams to deliver reliable cloud platforms that support critical business applications and services.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership establish engineering standards mentor junior engineers and drive cloud modernization initiatives. This position requires strong expertise in cloud architecture automation security infrastructure operations and enterprise-scale deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Design build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) modules and frameworks.
Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation processes.
Monitor optimize and troubleshoot cloud environments.
Implement security best practices including IAM VPC encryption and audit logging.
Maintain disaster recovery backup and high-availability solutions.
Support incident management and perform root cause analysis.
Collaborate with global engineering and technology teams.
Develop technical documentation standards and operational runbooks.
Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across cloud initiatives.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
8 years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
Advanced experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Experience developing and managing CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of cloud networking IAM storage monitoring and security.
Experience deploying and supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments.
Knowledge of cloud monitoring and observability tools.
Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
Experience working with distributed and global teams.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Technology or a related technical field preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer certification.
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification.
Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer certification.
Experience with ISO 27001 GDPR SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.
Experience mentoring and coaching technical team members.
