Job Summary
Our client is looking for a heavyweight Head of Business Unit (Medtech) to take the steering wheel of their most critical flagship business pillar in Mauritius

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Leadership & Revenue Delivery
- Own the Core Business Unit P&L and deliver the Financial Year invoiced revenue target.
- Lead the full sales cycle: prospecting pipeline management key account development tender management negotiation and closing.
- Maintain pipeline coverage of at least 3x monthly run-rate and drive forecast accuracy to within 10% by Q3.
- Develop and execute account plans for strategic and high-value customers across the target ecosystem.
- Monitor market trends competitor activity and regulatory developments to identify and act on growth opportunities.
Operational Execution & Cash Discipline
- Own OTIF (On-Time In-Full) delivery reliability targeting 92% by Q4 and a sustained 90% rolling 3-month average.
- Drive cash collection discipline: reduce DSO by 15 days vs baseline by Q4 and cut overdue exposure (>90 days) by 25%.
- Partner with the Operations Lead to align commercial commitments with delivery capability; resolve exceptions fast.
- Enforce dispute-closure SLAs and ensure the collections rhythm is embedded across the team.
Operating System & Governance
- Stand up and own a single-version-of-truth dashboard covering pipeline/forecast tenders/quotes OTIF exceptions and DSO/overdue.
- Run a structured weekly BU cadence: pipeline & forecast review quotes & tenders with Ops Lead OTIF exceptions and cash & dispute closure.
- Establish a clear RACI within the first 30 days; hold every team member accountable to their lane.
- Decide fast remove blockers proactively and escalate early when KPIs drift from target.
People Leadership & Culture
- Lead coach and develop the commercial team; set clear performance standards and scorecards.
- Build a performance culture grounded in ownership transparency and continuous improvement.
- Achieve 85% team KPI attainment by Q3 and measurably reduce rework and escalations by Q4.
- Act as a visible credible ambassador for the brand with customers partners and regulators.
Strategic Contribution
- Contribute to Group-level strategy as a member of the senior leadership community.
- Identify and evaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities in alignment with the Groups 5x 2030 ambition.
- Represent the Business Unit in cross-functional forums and Group leadership discussions.

Key Qualifications:
- 5 to 8 years experience in a senior commercial or general management role with direct P&L accountability.
- Proven track record of delivering revenue targets in a medical devices healthcare distribution or similar regulated environment.
- Experience managing complex B2B sales cycles including tenders key accounts and multi-stakeholder negotiations.
- Prior experience leading cross-functional teams (sales operations) and driving accountability across teams you do not fully own.
- Exposure to cash management and DSO improvement is highly valued.
- Experience in a Mauritian East African or Indian Ocean market context is strongly preferred.
