Responsible for underwriting activities and P&L responsibility for products aimed at the corporate segment (i.e property health liability workers compensation motor personal accident & travel employee compensation etc.) and managing UW relationship with intermediaries and business partners in the area of underwriting service delivery product development and innovation.

The Opportunity:

Responsible for underwriting and P&L management of corporate insurance portfolios including product development innovation and partner relationship management.

Your New Role:
  • Execute underwriting for Motor and Accident & Health portfolio (Motor Personal Accident and Health) in line with company risk appetite and growth targets.
  • Drive new business growth and manage renewal portfolio to ensure profitability.
  • Involvement in product development and system related enhancement.
  • Monitor portfolio performance (e.g. loss ratio trends) and take corrective actions where required.
  • Assess and underwrite risks within delegated authority including referrals and exceptions.
  • Ensure compliance with BNM guidelines and internal underwriting governance.
  • Deliver timely quotes and renewals to support business turnaround expectations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers agents and intermediaries.
  • Work closely with internal teams (Claims Policy Admin Compliance) to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support junior team members and handle more complex underwriting cases.

About You:
  • 5 years of underwriting experience in general insurance (Motor preferred)
  • Strong analytical and risk assessment skills
  • Good communication and negotiation skills with intermediaries
  • Able to work in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Familiar with BNM regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficient in Excel and underwriting
  • Degree or professional insurance qualification preferred (e.g. AMII/DMII)
