Job Summary

The Tester Maintenance Manager is the technical owner of the tester fleets health: balancing day-to-day line-down response with a long-term reliability plan and acting as the primary interface between Manufacturing Test Engineering Planning Facilities and the tester OEMs. The role is based on a cleanroom ESD-controlled production floor that runs around the clock with on-call availability for line-down events and extra shift cover during new-line ramps.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own tester availability utilization MTBF and MTTR targets across the ATE fleet and its interface hardware (load boards probe cards) reporting performance to site leadership.
  • Define and run the preventive maintenance (PM) and calibration plan for testers following OEM guidance and audit requirements to minimize unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Run the daily shift handover and downtime review and resolve line-down issues with Production and Test Engineering.
  • Lead troubleshooting and structured root-cause analysis (8D FMEA) for recurring or high-impact tester failures and make sure fixes are documented and standardized.
  • Lead and develop a team of PM technicians sustaining technicians and equipment engineers across the shift pattern including skill matrix training certification and headcount planning.
  • Plan and lead installation qualification and correlation of new testers with OEMs Facilities and Test Engineering and make sure the team is trained and ready before a new line starts production.
  • Own the spare parts strategy for tester platforms criticality analysis stock levels and lead-time management and manage repair vendors and OEM service contracts.
  • Own the tester maintenance budget and give input to capex and opex plans including repair-versus-replace decisions.
  • Enforce EHS rules (lockout/tagout electrical safety) and ESD controls keep calibration traceable and keep the area audit-ready.
  • Track and report the key indicators weekly and monthly: tester uptime MTTR on-time PM and calibration completion repeat failures spare parts availability maintenance cost per tester training coverage and safety and ESD incidents.
  • Run continuous-improvement projects that raise uptime and cut cost per tester.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical & Electronic Mechatronics or a related engineering field.
  • 8 years of experience in semiconductor test equipment maintenance or equipment engineering with at least 3 years managing technicians and engineers in a shift-based operation.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of semiconductor ATE testers such as the Advantest V93000 platform (Smart Scale and EXA Scale with Pin Scale 1600 (PS1600) Pin Scale 9G (PS9G) and Pin Scale 5000 digital cards) and T2000 and Teradyne UltraFLEX UltraFLEXplus J750 ETS-364 and ETS-88.
  • Hands-on experience with tester interface hardware (load boards probe cards) and with preventive maintenance calibration and instrument and power-system troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting new tester set-ups and line ramps including installation qualification and correlation.
  • Familiarity with CMMS or SAP PM for work-order tracking PM scheduling and spare parts.
  • Working knowledge of root-cause and quality tools (8D FMEA SPC) ESD control (ANSI/ESD S20.20) and EHS requirements including lockout/tagout.
  • Experience managing a maintenance or equipment budget.

Preferred Skills

  • Six Sigma TPM CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or PMP certification.
  • Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) or Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) frameworks.
  • Vendor negotiation experience including OEM service contracts and spare parts pricing agreements.
  • Experience with customer and ISO or IATF audits; exposure to automotive-grade semiconductor test requirements (ISO9001 & IATF 16949) is an advantage.
