Tax Assistant Manager

Job Summary
- Manage an assigned portfolio of corporate and individual clients ensuring timely delivery of tax compliance and advisory services.
- Review tax computations tax returns estimates and correspondence prepared by junior team members to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor statutory tax deadlines and ensure all submissions are completed within the required timelines.
- Liaise with clients and government authorities including the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) Royal Malaysian Customs Department Ministry of Finance and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Support the Tax Manager in delivering tax advisory services across various industries.
- Assist in managing tax audits investigations and dispute resolution matters.
- Review work completed by team members providing guidance to ensure quality accuracy and adherence to firm standards.
- Support the Tax Manager in coaching mentoring and training team members while sharing updates on tax legislation and regulatory developments.
- Assist in monitoring team performance and ensuring efficient workflow management.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients by providing practical tax planning compliance and risk management solutions.
- Prepare and review transfer pricing documentation in accordance with Malaysian and international transfer pricing regulations.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop tax strategies that support business objectives while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and ensure clients remain compliant with all applicable tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance Business or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in taxation preferably within a public accounting or professional services environment.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax legislation and a good understanding of international tax and transfer pricing principles.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication and client relationship management abilities.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Professional qualifications such as ACCA ICAEW CPA CFA CTP or equivalent are an added advantage.
Required Skills:
