Responsible for underwriting activities and P&L responsibility for products aimed at the corporate segment (i.e property health liability workers compensation motor personal accident & travel employee compensation etc.) and managing UW relationship with intermediaries and business partners in the area of underwriting service delivery product development and innovation.

The Opportunity

Responsible for underwriting leadership and P&L management of Financial Lines products across the corporate segment (including Directors & Officers Liability Professional Indemnity Cyber and related specialty lines). The role also drives underwriting excellence and manages relationships with intermediaries and business partners with a strong focus on service delivery product development portfolio optimisation and innovation within the Financial Lines space.

Your New Role:

  • Accountable for underwriting activities and full P&L responsibility across Financial Lines portfolios (e.g. D&O PI Cyber EPL Crime MedMal) within the corporate segment.
  • Drive underwriting strategy portfolio management and risk selection to ensure sustainable and profitable growth across new business and renewals.
  • Manage underwriting relationships with brokers multinational partners (MTPs) and key intermediaries ensuring high service standards strong engagement and effective collaboration.
  • Lead business development initiatives to achieve GWP growth targets including strengthening broker pipelines expanding key accounts and enhancing market presence in the Financial Lines segment.
  • Maintain strong technical underwriting discipline including continuous personal development to achieve and sustain Delegated Authority Level (DAL) capability.
  • Evaluate risks in accordance with underwriting guidelines appetite and pricing adequacy frameworks ensuring sound underwriting judgement and profitable outcomes.
  • Demonstrate strong market awareness including Financial Lines market cycles claims trends legal/regulatory developments (including Malaysian context) and competitive dynamics.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal regulatory and internal governance requirements including adherence to underwriting standards policies and risk controls.
  • Support and lead portfolio governance activities including cell reviews portfolio monitoring and identification/follow-through of remediation actions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers clients and internal stakeholders to support retention cross-sell opportunities and overall portfolio growth.
  • Develop deep expertise in Financial Lines products policy wordings coverage nuances and emerging risks (e.g. cyber threats regulatory exposures financial misconduct).

About You:

  • 7 years working experience with substantial experience gained within the insurance industry.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification preferable.
  • Strong level of numeracy and literacy and strong analytical skills.
  • Established customer/broker relationships.
