Job Summary

In this role you will lead and support hydrological hydraulic and water resource engineering studies across infrastructure flood mitigation and environmental projects. Responsibilities include building technical models reviewing M&E/civil designs producing comprehensive reports and offering expert advisory to clients. You will also mentor junior engineers coordinate with relevant government agencies and ensure all project outputs comply with regulatory guidelines and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead hydrological and water resources assessments for infrastructure drainage flood mitigation river engineering and development projects.
  • Conduct rainfall-runoff analysis flood frequency analysis catchment assessment and water balance studies.
  • Develop calibrate and validate hydrological and hydraulic models using appropriate modelling software.
  • Prepare design flood estimates flood hydrographs peak discharge calculations and drainage design parameters.
  • Carry out flood risk assessments floodplain mapping and river flow analyses.
  • Review drainage detention retention and stormwater management designs.
  • Assess the potential hydrological impacts of proposed developments and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Prepare technical reports calculations proposals presentations and tender documentation.
  • Review technical work produced by junior engineers modellers and external consultants.
  • Ensure that engineering analyses and designs comply with applicable guidelines standards and authority requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients project managers multidisciplinary consultants contractors and government agencies.
  • Attend technical meetings site visits and project presentations.
  • Support project planning fee estimation resource allocation and delivery schedules.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and graduate staff.
  • Contribute to business development activities including proposal preparation and client engagement.
  • Maintain high standards of quality safety professional ethics and environmental responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Water Resources Engineering Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A masters degree in Hydrology Hydraulic Engineering Water Resources Engineering or a related field is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in hydrology hydraulic modelling flood risk assessment or water resources engineering.
  • Experience working on consultancy infrastructure drainage flood mitigation or river engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of hydrological principles rainfall analysis catchment modelling and flood estimation methods.
  • Familiarity with relevant local authority guidelines drainage manuals and engineering standards.
  • Experience managing technical teams and coordinating multidisciplinary projects is an advantage.
