Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Evaluates selects and orders equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products.
  • Oversee the installation qualification modification upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
  • Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers technical notices upgrades and safety issues.
  • Studies equipment performance and reliability.
  • Establishes programs and solutions for increasing up-time and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
  • Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations.
  • Responsible for spare parts management to ensure availability for equipment maintenance and repair while minimizing downtime.
  • Defines and writes preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Provide training to production personnel technicians and engineers.
  • Lead or participate in development training qualification and validation activities for product or technology transfers.
  • Designs machine layouts within plant facilities to optimize efficiency.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree required in technical fields such as Biomedical Engineering Electrical / Electronic Engineering Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Material Science Chemical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing environment preferably in medical devices or other regulated industries.
  • Hands-on experience using Minitab for data analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation.
  • Hands-on experience with equipment qualification in manufacturing
  • Exposure to manufacturing and quality systems (e.g. MAP Agile CAPA) would be advantageous.
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma methodology and continuous improvement programs.
  • Strong written and verbal proficiency in English and Malay.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods typically ranging from 2 to 6 months or longer depending on on-the-job training needs.
